Secondhand Rapture - MS MR

Here's a stream of MSMR's upcoming debut album, Secondhand Rapture.  No real surprise in the sound of the album, most of it is in the same dark, poppy vein as their Candy Bar Creep Show EP.  It's definitely not bad though.  This is the sort of music I would do housework to I think.  I'm listening to it now and I'm packing.  Give it a listen, it's not too shabby.  If you're only going to check out one song on here, excluding the previously released material, I have to say I'm most partial to "Head Is Not My Home."

"Track 2" and "Track 3" - Jai Paul

Well hey there.  It's been a while.  Let's just say I've been on sabbatical, taking care of my living arrangements for the future and what not.  That said, music has been moving forward without us being able to update you.  Obviously, the biggest news is always surrounding Daft Punk, who, by now, have convinced me that they are the masters of manipulating the public.  They know when to give us a bit, when to withhold.  It's almost abusive, but we love it.
However, coming back from two weeks of leave, what I'm most excited about is Jai Paul.  You might remember him from "BTSTU" or "Jasmine,"which were both excellent.  If not, you are about to get (re-)acquainted with him.





Here are two tracks off his debut.  Enjoy! I know you will.

UPDATE!! These are not official releases!  Supposedly put up from Jai Paul's stolen laptop.  These tracks, along with the entire album, are un finished and unmastered, which means they will only get better!

"Wolves" - Fossil Collective

This british band is set to have their debut, Tell Where I Lie, is due out April 8th, and has been much awaited.  To those of you in the UK or Ireland, they'll be touring throughout much of April and May, so definitely check them out.

"Diane Young" - Vampire Weekend

Coming out with their first album in three years, ish, Vampire Weekend is back with Modern Vampires of the City, and I have to say, what I've heard so far is pretty great.  They've released a couple singles off it, and color me impressed.  I'm expecting this album to best their last, Contra.  Enjoy!

"Work! Work! Work!" - Stagecoach

First track off of Stagecoach' debut - set for release the 25th of March - has a kick but sound and video to go with it.  Can't wait to see them live, as they will without a doubt start touring in North America in the foreseeable future since they are already on a bunch of festival lineups, and have a UK tour lined up.

So I stumbled onto this track the other day.  Thank goodness for the internet.  It's been stuck in my head for easily the past week, if not a tad longer.  Give it a listen, its a great tune.

"Entertainment" - Phoenix

Ok big deal here.  New song off Phoenix' upcoming album Bankrupt!  due out April 22nd.
I guess I'm a pretty big fan of Phoenix, so of course I think it's pretty good.  I love their sound and I love the lead singers voice.  Give it listen.  You should definitely enjoy this one!

I know I've posted a remix of MSMR before, but here's an unaltered track: Fantasy.  Instrumentals build so well, and the voice is just great.  Enjoy.

"We No Who U R" - Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds

A beautifully calm song by the long-time Aussie band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.  Wonderfully orchestral, as well as with a beautiful video.
New album "Push The Sky Away" will be released in February.

"Bright Whites" - Kishi Bashi

It's always nice when masterful music is accompanied by a masterful video, and Kishi Bashi's Bright Whites falls in both categories.  When you listen to this, you can't help but feel great, and even optimistic, making it a perfect song to help kick-off the new year.  It was definitely one of the best songs of 2012.  A veteran in his field, K. Ishibashi helped found Jupiter One, and tours alongside Regina Spektor and Of Montreal.  Enjoy the sounds and support the artist.  His album 151a is truly amazing to listen through.

"Dirty Magazines" - Wildabeast ft. Jenny Mayhem

Hey hey, yet another chill track, fresh out of Philly.  So smooth, it goes down easy.  Enjoy as you lean back, maybe read a dirty magazine.
